Take Back Program
Acer has always been dedicated to designing products which are both power efficient and environmentally friendly. As part of our commitment to sustainable operations and corporate social responsibility, Acer is continuing to expand on ways in which we can help reduce the environmental impact that the I.T. industry has on our surroundings. On top of Acer's successful Tree's for Life Program. Acer has taken yet another step to help save the planet. To do this, Acer has introduced a "Take Back Program" where we will return your unwanted PC to an authorised recycler where you can nominated to have your PC, Notebook or LCD either cleaned for reuse or dismantled for recycling.
If you choose the "Reuse" option, the authorised recycler will clean and remove any information stored on the items hard drive and offer it to the market to who-ever is willing to take the product. You can rest knowing that your unwanted equipment is being used by someone who needs it, rather than it going to landfill.
The second option is to have your equipment recycled. If you choose this option, the recycler will have the items dismantled and recyclable components such as plastics and metals melted down and reused in other items such as cars, furniture and even into other I.T. equipment.
So why should I choose to have my old equipment recycled?
- Unwanted I.T. equipment will find it's way to landfill. With Acer's Take Back Program only 2% of an item will go to landfill if the recycle option is chosen.
- Unwanted equipment will not contaminate the earth.
- You can rest easy knowing you are actively doing your part for the environment.
- Reduce carbon emissions: By recycling materials, it consumes less energy then creating the materials from scratch.
